Hot Potatoes as a tool to teach children, teenagers, and adults !

Throughout the years, the technology has been evolved so much, nowadays, it exits a diversity of programs, applications and new things in our technology world that helps teachers to apply different strategies in order to involve students in learning  by using technology.

In particular, Hot Potatoes is a program that contains a collections of 6 tools with the purpose to help teachers to create different quizzes; each tool or application has a specific purpose, for example "jquiz" is use it to ask  several questions to test students, there is another tool to create crossword, interactive multiple-choice, mix sentences, matching and gap-fill exercise.

Basically, Hot Potatoes is a versatile program because this tool could be use it for children, teenagers and adults. So as teachers we can have this advantage of use it according students' age, we have to consider that there are some tools that are more complicated than other ones, what means that we can not use all of them with children. The teacher has to create and accommodate the quiz according his students with something more simple or less complicated as JCross or JMach.

In relation with teenagers or adults, I consider that teachers can apply the 6 tools because they are able to make readings comprehension quiz and other difficult tasks. The teacher could make a quiz in which students have to read about a specific topic like Global Warming and make short-answers; also, teachers can make a JMix quiz that consists in multiple choices, JMach, Jcloze and Jcross but with certain kind of difficulty according to their  students level.

As a matter or fact, Hot Potato is consider a new tool for teachers to create quizzes to apply in different ages and levels considering students´ needs, interest, etc. In fact, by applying this tool, teachers can test or evaluate their students in order to know if they have understood a topic, to practice reading comprehension, learn vocabulary and meanings, etc.
